RiverCity Publications is a new weekly web-based and monthly print media corporation serving the rapidly-evolving young African/American market of the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan region. Located in St. Louis City’s West-End Community, we have ready access to the sharpest interns and recent graduates from Washington University and St. Louis University, which provide us with an eager, reasonably-priced writer, web-tech and administrative pool. Our publication has its greatest appeal with the ‘New Generation’ of Metropolitan St. Louis’ African/American market segment. By offering our weekly web-based publication and blogs as well as our montlhy print publication option, we meet the primary needs of print publication readers (typically parents and grandparents) as well as the web savvy younger Black population.
In 2008, Owner and Founder, Terry Artis, former Publisher of the Limelight Newspaper and Founder/Executive Director of the youth musical nonprofit, Show-Me Sound Organization (since 1993), recognized that the rapidly growing online newspaper market was creating an expanding demand with no Black publications dedicated to the younger, 'new thinkers' of the region. A strong believer in the ideas of truth and empowerment of the Black community, we saw this as a prime opportunity to apply our business interests and experience to build a stronger bond and network in the community among our younger folks and work in the area of our greatest passion.
